Evangelism and Visitation

For this is what the Lord has commanded us: “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth (Acts 13: 47)

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Mark 16:15

Matthew 28:19-20
1 Peter 3:15)

As committee, our aim is to encourage the congregation to be able to make disciples of all kinds of people. As a result, we have developed a monthly evangelism plan, whereby the entire congregation goes out once in a month to reach out to others, mostly the local community. We also encourage individual members of the congregation to develop their own evangelism strategies in line with great commission set out in Mathew 28: 19-20: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

In addition, we also aim to expand our congregation through our evangelism plan mentioned in the statement; hence we encourage members to collect personal data (name contact numbers, door numbers and post codes) whenever they go out and feedback unto the committee.

We also work together with other committees to organise Friends and Families’ programme. The aim of this programme is to provide opportunity to members of the congregation to invite and bring others, especially, non-Christians to the church to have a sweet fellowship, and also to witness Christ being preached.

Visitation:
Everyone needs friendship and Christian fellowship. Many times the visitors wait in expectation all week to see if they will receive a visit by someone from the church, a call, or even just a card from a member. Our role is to be an extension of the congregation and take their care outside the walls of the church into someone's home. Visitation helps the church to complete the cycle of concern for visitors.

The committee deems visitation as one the essential ways through which we can encourage and support one another, especially our regular ‘Absentees’. Hence our target is to be able to use the various ‘Zones’ (Zonal Groups) within the church to achieve this goal. We also encourage various zones to meet regularly, and also draw their own programmes/activities. Apart from the zones, we also encourage individual members visit and contact each other regularly, in order to strengthen our relationships.

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I  was a stranger and you made me your guest, I needed clothes and you provided them, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.

Matthew 25:35-36
